About the programme

The seven-month-long (30 days live virtual classroom + six-month OJT) job-confirmed programme at UNIBIC School for Jobs is designed for candidates looking for a career in sales. The programme is well equipped to hone the selling skills of the candidates. In addition, the programme effectively solves for, the key challenges faced by sales-focused organisations that are looking for achieving higher productivity with lower attrition. The programme ensures that the frontline sales workforce is productive from day one of their jobs.

The training lifecycle of the programme has various phases. The first phase highlights the need for change in behaviours and core selling process. The second phase of the training emphasises retail dynamics and channel selling. It also focuses on professional etiquettes and developing financial acumen. Third and the final phase imparts the product and process knowledge specific to the organisation.

About the programme

What is the programme?

The programme is a 4-week live virtual classroom session, followed by 6-month on-the-job training. During the OJT period, you will be paid a stipend of approximately Rs. 14000 per month. The role of a sales trainee (who will later get confirmed as a Business Officer on completion of 12 months), has team management responsibility since he/she will be managing at least 5 Route-Agents/Distributor Sales Representatives, and is expected to lead them in the market from the front and ensure productivity and sales targets are achieved.

What are the offerings under this programme?

Single role only – there are no multiple roles or offerings under this programme. In terms of offering if you mean CTC, then the same is already described above.

Will I be a UNIBIC employee?

Yes, if you qualify the academy, you will be a offered a job on the payroll of UNIBIC. Initially for the first 12 months (including 6 months of OJT) you will be designated as ‘Sales Trainee’, and then promoted to Business Officer basis performance.

Does the program offer a job guarantee? If yes, are there any pre conditions to this?

Yes the programme offers job-guarantee since each and every student who successfully clears the classroom training final assessment will be absorbed by UNIBIC as a sales trainee. However, the final conversion to permanent employment is subject to performance during the 6-month OJT period.

What documents will be required for course enrolment?

You will be required to submit the following documents before the course enrolment:

I am an undergraduate. Can I enrol for the programme?

No – this programme is only for graduates, and Post-graduation is optional ie. PG is not a disqualification. However, those who have completed graduation/ PG and have 0-3 years of experience are eligible for applying.

What is the duration of this programme?

The duration of the programme is 4-weeks, followed by 6-months OJT. The next batch starts on June 01, 2021.

How many stages of recruitment are there?

You will have to first appear for an online aptitude test, followed by a telephonic interview round by UNIBIC Sales Academy and finally by the UNIBIC HR team. If successful, you will be asked to pay the registration fees to UNext Sales Academy, and then you are given the provisional offer letter by UNIBIC HR. Before joining the Academy, you will then need to pay the balance of the training fees. After completing the 4-week live virtual classroom training, you will be given the OJT joining letter as per your location preference. After completing the 6-months OJT, you will be assessed and given the final confirmation of permanent employment letter by UNIBIC.

When will I get the certificate from UNext for having successfully completed the programme?

You will get the certificate on the completion of the total 7-month training provided you have passed all the qualifying tests during the classroom session and in OJT.

What happens if I don’t clear the sales academy?

The sales academy will conclude with an assessment. Almost all candidates clear the assessment due to the rigour of the academy. In the rare case that a student fails the final assessment after the 4-weeks training, you will not be given the OJT joining letter by UNIBIC and will have to forfeit the money you spent.

What is the description of the job being offered through this programme?

"Business Officer" is a role that is a team-leader/ team-manager role and is expected to make sure that sales, distribution and visibility targets are achieved in the given set of routes.

Who will issue the job offer?

Unbic HR will send the OJT offer, and later the final conversion to permanent employment.

Does the role involve travel?

Yes, the role needs you to travel to the market of the area as per distribution coverage. Hence, flexibility to travel is a must for the role.

What will be my location?

The hiring is for specific locations only. However, you need to be willing and ready to be appointed and/or transferred anywhere in the country.

Can I get transferred to a different location?

Yes. We prefer candidates who are willing to work anywhere in the country, but we generally try to place those who know the local language of the state where they are posted.

Who will I report into?

You will report to the ASM of that area.

Will I be eligible for annual increase after I join?

Yes, you will be part of annual performance appraisal process and will be eligible for annual increase based on performance.

What will be the compensation?

The compensation will be INR 3.5 lakh per annum in first year which includes Target-based incentives. Before joining for the OJT, the HR team of UNIBIC will take you through benefits in addition to stipend/ salary like expense reimbursements, and perquisites.

Can we expect to become permanent employees in UNIBIC?

You are being hired for first 6 months under OJT, and if you do well in that period, then you will be confirmed as permanent employees.

Is there any service bond?

No, there is no service bond.
